Butterfly Wings

Butterfly Hair Clips

These butterfly hair clips were created by rubber stamping on scrapbook paper with permanent ink. The "Arty" butterfly is from Limited Editions and the heart with wings is from Inkadinkado. After the designs were cut out, they were  sealed on both sides with Beacon Fast Finish Decoupage gel. This provides shine and water resistance to the paper. I altered the alligator hair clips by attaching the butterflies with double stick tape. Most of the design is unsupported by the clip and therefore flexible. When you wear them in your hair, the wings appear to be in motion.

I am entering these clips in the following challenges:
CRAFT Challenge - alter/recycle something
Crafts 4 Eternity - Recipe #21 alter something
Pattie's Creations Design Challenge - #22 anything but a card
Allsorts Challenge - things with wings
Digi Doodle Shop's Best - #60 anything goes
Fairy Tale Challengeblog - #16 anything but a card
2 Sisters Challenge - #41 anything goes

I encourage you to visit the above-mentioned sites and experience the beautiful samples that the design team members have created for inspiration.

Wild West

Wild West Card

Making this card was a real challenge for me. I had to scrounge for some western images (Altered Art Fun) and then I didn't quite know what to do with them. Once I started playing around with ideas and moving things around on paper, I came up with this "Queen of Hearts" idea.
I am entering this card in the "wild west" challenge at Gingersnap Creations.

There is a "something metal" challenge going on at Sparkles Forum Challenges.
The heart is a gold-colored metal charm.

There are "anything goes" challenges on the following sites:
I Did It Creations, Make it Monday, Woodware USA Clear Stamps, Crafting for All Seasons and The Paper Shelter.

The Design Teams on the above sites work very hard on their creations. Please visit their sites and be inspired!

Altered Art

Ceramic Tile Pendant

This pendant is made from a ceramic tile purchased from Home Depot in the flooring department. I attached a photo turn for the bail and put a piece of scrapbook paper on the back to cover up the glue and present a more finished appearance. The design is a stamp that I found on the internet. I had to stretch it to fit the tile but it still looks good. I attached the paper to the tile with Modge Podge. I also sealed the design with two layers of Modge Podge. It was a lot of fun to make and I plan on making more with the other 20 tiles that came in the package.

I am entering this altered tile into the "altered project" challenge on the Dutch Dare Challenge site.

There are also two "anything goes" challenges that I will be entering the tile pendant in:  Woodware USA Clear Stamps and Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge.

I always encourage you to look at the other clever creations that have been submitted by the design teams and other crafters.

Altered & Recycled Challenge

Bobby Pins

There is an "altered challenge" going on at
http://dutchdare-cardchallenges.blogspomt.co/. It's always fun to find ways to re-use or re-purpose something.

The bobby pins were created from discarded mini poker chips that have a design that was paper punched from a magazine. I used Beacons Liquid Laminate to adhere and seal the design. So much fun!

I am also entering these bobby pins into the "recycle challenge" at
http://challengeupyourlife.blogspot.com/.

Please see all the wonderful examples the design teams on these sites have created. You will be inspired.

Journal Page

Pearl & Me
The photo used in this "journal page" is from the May Bella Muse Challenge
http://bellacreations.ning.com/forum/topics/may-bella-muse-challenge?id=6357632%3ATopic%3A119633&page=5.  It made me think of the long summer days of my youth. They were spent lounging on a blanket with friends, hiding from the heat of the sun in the shade of a tree. I remember looking in the grass for "lucky" four-leaf clovers.
